Versed Skincare: A First Look
There’s a new kid on the clean beauty block: Versed Skincare. I had the chance to try out some products ahead of the launch and meet the team behind the lotions and potions at a preview. Created by the editors of Who What Wear, Versed is a thoughtful, affordable, non-toxic range of beauty products from a brand on a mission to reduce industry waste and provide effective products.
Although I haven’t tried everything for an extended period of time, I did get some great first impressions at the preview — I loved the silky Keep it Supple Body Oil and the serums also felt fantastic on the skin. I’ve got the Stroke of Brilliance Vitamin C Serum that I can’t wait to bust out once I’m through the serums I’m currently using.
My hunch is that the Dew Point Moisturizer will be a great option for a lightweight summer moisturizer as it is a gel-cream formula. As the weather is warming up here in NYC, I feel like I already want to ditch my rich cream moisturizer and make it a part-time employee for night use only.
One pot I have dipped into is the Day Dissolve Cleansing Balm and let me just say it is makeup removing MAGIC. Yes, it is a holy grail product indeed.
I’ve used this cleansing balm every day for three weeks now and I am truly blown away by its makeup melting wonders.
This was my first experience with a cleansing balm. I used to use a wipe, then to get rid of the residue (and, *ahem* makeup) left behind, go back over with micellar water, and finally use a gel cleanser. It left my skin feeling stripped. And yet, even when dutifully going through the aforementioned steps, leftover makeup would come off in the toning step.
I now proudly double cleanse because this balm is SO good. It melts makeup off instantly, even waterproof eyeliner. Goodbye makeup wipes forever! I really don’t miss them. Taking off my makeup at the end of the day felt like a chore with my old routine, but the Day Dissolve Cleansing Balm has made that part of my ritual so much more enjoyable because my skin feels soft after using the balm, not dry or rough. A little bit of the balm goes a long way, so it's great in terms of price for amount of product.
As for the other products, the entire range is priced under $20 and available at Target. *Add to cart* and thank me later, seriously!
