Easy Holiday Makeup
I like to think I have the time and patience to learn how to do really elaborate makeup looks, but that just isn't the case. However, I do like makeup and I like to experiment. So I do it on my own terms. Especially for holiday, I like to look like I at least made an effort, haha.
The eye look is really simple, but striking at the same time, with a wash of color all over the lids. Some people say you should choose a color on your eyes OR a color on your lips. I say, screw it. I choose both. For this look, you really just need a nice base with some highlighter, and color on your lids and eyes. Below, find my steps for this easy makeup look for your next holiday party.
1. Cleanse: Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Soap
This cleanser is so gentle and perfect for mornings when I have either no product on my face, or just a night cream or oil. It has pieces of seaweed in it, so it acts as an exfoliant.
2. Hydrate: Tula Beauty Urban Defense Hydration Mist
Tula skincare products are formulated with probiotics. I really feel like since I've started using this mist, which is supposed to protect your skin from environmental toxins, I've had to mask less and have seen an improvement in my skin - it doesn't feel as grimey at day's end when I've been out in city streets all day long. Hoorah! And it smells like roses. Double win.
Arden's serum improves the effectiveness of the skincare products you layer on top. I use this serum in my daily morning and night time routine.
4. Eye Cream: Kiehls's Creamy Eye Treatment
Some mornings, this eye cream is the only thing that makes me look alive! It's formulated in such a way that it doesn't migrate to any other area than where you apply it. Pro-tip: you can also put eye cream on your laugh line and in between your brows on the frown line to prevent (or reduce the appearance of) wrinkles in those areas.
5. Moisturize: Glossier Priming Moisturizer
Moisturizes and primes in one step. This gives my skin a really nice texture, as well.
I usually go for a BB cream instead of a foundation because most foundations feel to heavy on my skin. This cream gives a dewy finish.
7. Bronzer: Trestique Bronzer Stick " Brazilian Bronze"
Trestique packages their products with makeup on one end, and a brush on the other. This bronzer is creamy and blends really well.
8. Blush: Milk Makeup Lip/Cheek in "Quickie."
This color stick is super creamy and blendable. I found it this summer and pretty much wear it every. single. day.
I applied this shadow all over my lid and also underneath my lid under my waterline. The color is pretty intense straight out of the pot so I opted not to use a primer.
This lipstick is a steal, currently at 50% off. The line comes in a bunch of colors, I also like "Pop Cultured" shade as well.
